CWI has the following organisation


Frank Reichert, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Science, University of Agder, was elected to be director of CWI.
The steering board consists currently of the seven members representing the academic partners. CWI currently invites selected industry to join the center. The steering board members are:

Motivation
The Center for Wireless Innovation (CWI) is a facilitator for industry and the academic participants to form a strategic partnership in wireless R&D.
CWI shall offer easy access for industry to a wide range of competencies & researchers. The center provides the possibility to execute complex projects integrating multiple technology areas. The center offers researchers the ability to participate in large projects with cross-disciplinary requirements. The center provides synergy effects & efficiency gains in research, education & administration.

- CWI aims at being Norway’s leading research partner in wireless communications.
- CWI offers companies a platform to create awareness of their products and priorities to a larger audience, and international network ... if desired.
- CWI projects can contribute to visualise user benefits and demonstrate future scenarios to the public and potential customers.
Applied R&D Contributions
- Input to company strategies and R&D is supported by a broad range of competencies.
- Project teams will consist of professors, senior researchers, PhD students, and talented research students.
- Pre-competitive R&D projects can be co-financed by NFR, SKF, EU between 40-100%.
- Most professors driving CWI have worked many years in industry in leading positions, and therefore have a very good understanding of industry needs.
