Beskrivelse:
Web services are used in service deployment. The next step will include the usage of "knowledge" in the Web Service world. Knowledge about the background of the user request ("what the user really means"), about service capabilities (what does the service do?) and service delivery ("in which way should I send the result to the user").
The current work will establish contact to advanced Telecom services in the PATS lab (www.pats.no) and establish a proxy interface to these services. The work is done through the EU FP6 project: Adaptive Service Grid, http://asg-platform.org
Målsetting:
- Establish VPN access to PATS services
- Summarize functionality of a Semantic Service Platform (here: ASG)
- Establish Proxy for 2-3 PATS services, such that they can work from the ASG platform
Optional:
- Develop an ontology for "commuter" (= people on the way to work)
- Include further services from 3rd party providers (NSB, Stor Oslo Local traffic)

- Litterature study to get a sollid foundation for the master thesis on Semantic Web. This includes the concepts of Web Service, Service Oriented Architecture and Semantic Web. See references below.
- write summary on functionality of ASG platform
- provide example steps on how to define services for the ASG platform
- provide guidance on how to link existing services to the platform (if described)
